Back in 2010, we highlighted ten great apps used by the WorkingPoint team. By now, the world of apps is larger than ever, with new and better tools being built everyday. So, we thought we’d update our list, and share with you a few new apps that every business could, and should be using today.

First, we hope by now that all of you have checked out WorkingPoint’s mobile application. This java-based version of our financial management and accounting suite allows you to do everything you already do from your WorkingPoint account, but via your mobile phone. The app makes it easier than ever to manage your finances on the go.

Here are some other brilliant applications that can help you run and grow your business:

1. Asana

Billed as a “collaborative information manager,” Asana is a simple alternative to complicated work management software. It allows users to manage not only work projects, but also personal projects and events in one easy-to-navigate interface.

2. LocalVox

A web marketing app that allows businesses to build their brands online. The service enables owners to easily publish news, events and deal announcements across multiple online channels all at once, including social media, websites, local directories and email newsletters.

3. TripIt

TripIt allows business travelers to keep track of trip arrangements in one unified place, creating a comprehensive itinerary. The app also gathers weather updates, maps, and directions to make traveling easier than ever.

4. Bump

Allows entrepreneurs to ditch traditional business cards in favor of virtual ones. Users can trade contact information, photos, and files by simply “bumping” two smartphones together. This enables users to automatically store contacts, instead of manually entering them from business cards.

5. FormMobi

Called a “virtual clipboard,” the FormMobi app lets professionals easily gather and distribute data on any mobile device. Features include the ability to record audio, take pictures, collect signatures, and create CAD-quality sketches.

6. Google Drive

Google’s new Drive app lets users seamlessly port and edit files from PC to tablet to smartphone. The software also acts as a full cloud drive, letting you store any file type via a virtual drive app or a web interface. The app also gives you 5GB of storage, free.

7. Evernote

Evernote allows you to “Remember Everything.” By making it easy for users to store, organize and share text, photos, and voice notes, entrepreneurs can easily keep track of all of their brilliant ideas. The app recently acquired web startups Skitch and Penultimate to add to their growing list of features.

So the next time you wish you had a better way to stay organized, increase your visibility, or get connected, just remember: there’s probably an app for that.
