About transaction types

WorkingPoint categorizes transactions by type. Here are the types and what they are used for:

Transaction Type:

Used for:

Adjusting Entry

Recording accounting adjustments, such as depreciation or payroll

Bill Payment

Recording payments you've made on bills. Payments can also appear by payment method: Credit Card, Cash, Check, Debit Card, or Online/EFT

Cash Withdrawal

Recording money you take out of your bank account at the ATM or in person with a bank teller

Credit Card Charge

Recording purchases you made on your credit card account.

Credit Card Credit

Recording credits from your credit card provider or other merchants that reduce the amount owed by you.

Credit Card Payment

Recording payments you make on your credit card to reduce the balance of your account.

Customer Credit

Tracking customer invoice overpayments; created automatically for you by WorkingPoint

Customer Credit Applied

Applying a credit WorkingPoint created to track an invoice overpayment

Customer Invoice

Issuing a bill of sale to your customer for goods and/or services you provided

Deposit

Recording payments you have received for things other than invoices (Payments received on the invoice are recorded as Payment on Invoice [below] and are automatically deposited for you)

Funds Transfer

Recording money moved from one bank account to another

Payment Made

Recording payments you've made. Payments can also appear by payment method: Credit Card, Cash, Check, Debit Card, or Online/EFT

Payment Received on Invoice

Recording payments you received from customers on invoices you created for goods/services sold, including PayPal payments

Vendor Bill

Recording a debt (bill) you owe to vendor for goods/services you bought from them
