Checking the available quantity of an item

At times, you'll want to know how many units of a particular item you have on hand, for example, a customer calls to ask how much they can purchase. You might also want to check the quantities of your items after taking a physical inventory of your stock. You can compare what you have in WorkingPoint with what you actually have in stock and make adjustments as needed.

You can check on the available quantity of an item from the Items List. Since WorkingPoint increases the quantity when you purchase inventory, and decreases the quantity when you sell inventory, you can always know the current number you have available to sell.

When you create an invoice for items you track as inventory, WorkingPoint tells you the available quantity to sell as of the invoice date.

To check the available quantity of an inventory item:

  1. Click the Items tab to open the Items List.

  2. In the sidebar, click Inventory Items to narrow the list to show only items you track inventory for.

  1. Look in the Qty Avail. column for the item to check the quantity available to sell.
